Eh, why not? I'm bored.

  • Listening to: nothing
  • Reading: nothing
  • Watching: Naruto
  • Playing: Super Mario Galaxy
  • Eating: nothing
  • Drinking: nothing
So anyways. I know it's been a while, but nobody reads this, so it's okay.
Bad news? Barb's in the hospital with a crazy fever, I still haven't finished my essay, and we lost our last volleyball game. That, and I probably can't go to Sadie's, because I'm taking the ACT the next day. FML.
Um, good news? Not much, really. My life is kind of boring. It's pretty much limited to waiting for the next manga chapters to come out for whatever series I'm obsessed with, sleeping, playing the piano, and going on facebook. Then sighing when nobody is online. :'(
Speaking of manga, it seems like the three series I'm following (Naruto, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist) are all at pretty much the same point in the story. Namely, the epically fatass battle that determines the fate of the world as they know it. Also, someone important just died/ appears dead. And then they somehow gain this new power and BAM! TURNABOUT!
This goes back and forth for a while...

I may actually post some drawings up here soon. *gasp* They're still crappy, but I've gotten a lot better in the past 2 years. I actually know what I'm doing.
...Sort of.

My main hobby, as of the past few months, is playing piano. Pretty crazy, especially since I used to loathe practicing. But now I tend to play for about an hour at a time. It drives everyone nuts, but too bad. I've taken a break from the Moonlight Sonata/ Wind Waker music, as I felt that I needed to expand my repetoire. Here's what I'm learning right now. Feel free to go look them up or whatever if you want to listen to some nice music.

Baten Kaitos (is that how it's spelled? Or is it Baiten Katos? Baiten Kaitos?):
-Limpidly Flow (One of those ones where there was also a violin part, which I think was the prettiest... but they couldn't work it in there.)

Devil May Cry
-I'll be Your Home (Starts off easy, and then gets really hard...)

Final Fantasy VII:
-Theme (Same. Some crazy chords, including one with all five fingers.)
-Interrupted by Fireworks (Pretty but simple. One of those songs where you get used to the pattern, and then it changes by one note. Argh.)

Final Fantasy X (Kinda makes me wonder how many more they can make. I mean, Jesus. I know they're good and all, but... ah, whatever. Forget I said anything.):
-To Zanarkand (I think almost everyone knows this song. Even people who haven't played Final Fantasy.)

Naruto:
-Sadness and Sorrow (The one I'm closest to memorizing, I think. I can play this one the smoothest, in any case.)

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney:
-Turnabout Sister's Theme (Jumping chords! Still getting used to this.)

Spirited Away:
-Ever With Me (5/4! Argh! Some of the rhythms are weird too. Like in that one depressing song, MacArthur Park, that we have to play for band. And there's 32nd notes!!!)
-Inochi no Namae - The Name of Life (I love this one, but some of those chords are just painful.)
-Shiroi Ryuu (This one is kind of dark and creepy.)
-Waltz of Chihiro (Probably my favorite out of... every song I've ever learned, at least melody-wise. So, so pretty.)

Super Mario Galaxy:
-Comet Observatory (The person who arranged this is so, so talented. She writes her own music and it's GORGEOUS. This piece is very... jumpy. I have to look down all the time to make sure I'm going the right way.)
-File Select (Simple. Staccato. The only one of its kind in this whole game *sob*... oh well, that's what makes the soundtrack great [I have it, if anyone wants to borrow].)
-Good Egg Galaxy (Ahh, the first truly epic song you hear when you play this game. It's like the soundtrack to an epic space journey... which I guess it is. But failtastic descriptions aside, this piece looks hard, but is actually pretty simple. Except for that damn intro. And the chord-16th notes.)
-Gusty Garden Galaxy (WHAT. THE. HELL. IS. THIS. This is damned HARD. And the tempo is 176, AND it's got 5 flats! And about a billion grace notes all over the place... and accidentals... kill me now. But it's such a great song that I couldn't resist printing it... All 8 pages. 8 pages? Honestly? Who has that kind of patience?... Although I suppose I do, if I'm learning all of these songs and practicing so much.)
-Space Junk Galaxy (Okay, this is a [sort of] simple and pretty song, but good GOD. Some of these notes are so high, they fall off the end of the piano and crash on the ground. Either that or they just float away, lie helium balloons. Although that doesn't actually happen, they are WAY UP THERE. And why the double flats? I've never understood that concept. Can't they just write one whole step below it, with an accidental if need be? Seriously. Why confuse the musician any further?)
-Star Festival (4 sharps and a 170 tempo, along with jumping chords, accidentals, and grace notes. Eh, still not as bad as Gusty Garden. It's only 3 pages.)

Super Mario Sunshine:
-Bianco Hills (The Gusty Garden of Isle Delfino, in terms of both greenery AND difficulty of music. Too many 16th rests for my liking.)
-Ricco Harbor (It may be fast, but the tune is fairly simple, if you can get the constantly changing tuba-like rhythm down.)

Super Mario 64:
-Dire Dire Docks (I could fall asleep to this song. It's soft, repetetive, and soothing. Pretty easy to play.)
-File Select (Continues the trend of easy file select music. I guess they couldn't put as much effort into that, though. I mean, what kind of loser spends all day staring at the "file select" screen? "Do I select the file that says 'Sam' on it to get to my game, or is this a trick question? Should I just start over?"
-Pirahna Plant's Lullaby (Pretty easy. I feel sorry for those Pirahna Plants. They're just peacefully sleeping there, and then this Nayloresque plumber comes out of nowhere and stomps their heads flat. But anyways, this one is pretty too. Just nice, slow chords, for the most part.)
-Snow Mountain (Like Ricco Harbor with the whole tuba thing, except harder. More 16th-chords.)

Tales of Symphonia:
-Presea (Good freaking LORD. These notes for the left hand... I don't even recognize them, they're so high. BARB couldn't recognize them, for crying out loud! And they're 16th notes, AND this one chord spans over 3 octaves! I don't know about the rest of the world, but my hand isn't that big. Sorry.)

Voila.

I just finished reading the most depressing book ever. It's called "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. It's incredible, it's amazing, I loved it, but the ending just ripped my hear out. I haven't cried that hard over a book... since Dumbledore died, maybe? ;)
Maybe even longer. Maybe the last time was when I first read "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls. I recommend both of those books.

And that's about it, since it's past midnight and I need to take a shower and sleep.

The End
